Naturally, with spring, comes outside one of my all time favorite activities---hula hooping! An excellent exercise and fun de-stressors. It makes me feel like a kid again and is an excellent workout. The rhythm and concentration of hooping relaxes the brain and becomes meditative. It's possible to hoop indoors but it limits motion and just not as much fun. And picking out a hula hoop is just a party in itself. All the colors and options (water? no water? glitter? sound?) is a sensory delight!
Maybe hooping opens up the door to play and outdoor games. Which can be equally as enjoyable if hooping might not be your thing. I think the benefit of being a parent is you can play all the outdoor games with your kids that you enjoyed as a kid yourself. There is a natural, invigorating energy that comes with childhood games. Even if you don't have kids, grab yourself a hoop and head outdoors...
